Canada Post Corporation (CPC) has committed to a Postal Transformation Program representing a massive infrastructure investment over the next five years to modernize its national facility network. The new facilities and expansion to existing facilities will feature revised processing and delivery models with increased emphasis on an efficient working environment, ergonomics, health and safety and the natural environment.

Kingslandv Architects Inc. were commissioned by MHPM (project managers) and Canada Post (owner) to design and oversee the construction of a letter carrier’s depot to replace an aged and undersized facility in downtown Toronto.

CPC relocated the existing LCD operations from 1 Yonge Street, Toronto, to a newly constructed, LEED - Gold, Letter Carriers Depot for Harbourfront, Toronto. The new facility is approximately 70,000 sq ft. of floor space to accommodate the relocation. There was an existing 23,000 sq. ft single storey building on this site occupied by Canada Post, which we demolished to accommodate the new facility.

The Substantial Completion, governed by a very aggressive schedule, was critical because the lease was expiring at the Yonge Street location.
